ABOUT THE COURSE>>

Through this online course, not only will you get to know the written works of William Shakespeare, English playwright, poet and actor, but you will also learn about his biography and outstanding aspects of his life. You will get to know the meaning and relevance of his works, considered exemplary creations in universal literature. During the course, we will study and explore three of his plays: The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, The Life and Death of King Richard the Second and The Tempest. The overall goal of the course is to study and analyze the above-mentioned plays from interpretive, political and feminist perspectives. We are also going to explore and analyze the influence that Plato and Machiavelli had on Shakespeare’s works and finally, we will study the analysis Jon Kott conducted about Shakespeare’s plays, trying to find possible links between the themes Shakespeare dealt with in his plays and our present postmodern world.

FINAL WORK>>

At the end of the course, all participants will present a written reflection, comprising at least one A4 page, on the studied plays in the course.

Once you finish the course, you will obtain your certificate of participation.

Any person, with or without training and/or theatre experience.

From 31 of January to 04 of April of 2021

20 hours totally, 10 days, every Sunday, from 10:30 AM. to 12:30 AM. Spain Time (UTC+01).
